The company was listed as Agritrade Resources Ltd on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2012. Currently, he is an Independent Board Member in Opensys Berhad and Bermaz Berhad, listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
Prof. Emeritus Dato Paduka Dr. Mahmood holds several Shariah-related degrees from Malaysia and abroad, namely, Bachelor of Shariah from Nilam Puri, Master of Shariah from the Al-Azhar University, Master of Philosophy from the University of Kent and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Malaya. He also holds a Diploma in Education from Ain Shams in Egypt. From 1985 to 1990, he was the Dean at the Faculty of Shariah at University of Malaya. His areas of expertise are threefold, namely, History of Islamic Law, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence and Administration of Islamic Criminal Law. He was also Director of the Academy of Islamic Studies in University of Malaya from 1995 to 2003. Being an accomplished writer, he has published numerous shariah papers over the years which include 'Ke arah Merealisasikan Undang-undang Islam' di Malaysia (1988), Undang-Undang Keluarga Islam: Konsep dan Perlaksanaannya di Malaysia (1992), Pengantar Undang-Undang Islam di Malaysia (1997) and many more.

He is knowledgeable in land codes (law), Trustee Act 1949, Probate & Administration Act 1959. He has served Levi Strauss (M) Sdn Bhd, Pusat Pungutan Zakat, MAIWP, AmanahRaya Berhad, Koperasi Pembiayaan Shariah ANGKASA BHD and MyANGKASA AMANAH BERHAD from 2014 - 2019 before assuming his current position and portfolio.
